Montessori Schools Association Child-Minders Network Meeting News: 23rd June 2018
Our last MSA Child-Minders Summer Network meeting was held at Drakes Montessori Childcare setting in Exmouth owned and led by Jenny McArthur.
We were fortunate to have Eliza Wylie from hopskipandsing.co.uk run the Rhythm and Pulse workshop on developing Rhythm and pulse in the Early Years.
This was a really good fun workshop introducing drumming and other rhythm and pulse activities we can use within our own settings with the children. The workshop was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
These network meetings are held across the country three times a year and our next meeting is at Marula Montessori in Bedfordshire on the 6th October 2018. This meeting will have a focus on British garden birds, Christmas craft / decorations of different bird feeders. We will have a workshop on how to make edible Christmas decorations for the garden birds and also make classification cards, 3 part garden bird cards. This will give the all the settings attending an opportunity to get the children in their settings interested in watching and discussing the British birds that visit the feeders at there settings. The children will also be shown how to make these feeders as an activity within our own settings as a Christmas activity later in the year.
